This is my first time of hosting a website, and it’s a really new and interesting experience for me. It takes me some time to get familier with the site, and the feeling of controlling everything in my website is great. I think I will definitely devote more time to study how to manage my website. Also, I will post some blogs about my life in my website and introduce my site to my friends and families.
The experience of “rolling my own” website, for me, is a process of demystifying. Through managing the web, I know the whole procedure from setting up the theme to publishing my blog and how to change some element of it. The website is not a black-box to me anymore, and If I only use the social media platform, I can only have the feeling of being a guest instead of being a host. What’s more, I can edit the detail of my website, it’s a interesting experience that I couldn’t have if I only use social media platform.
