For my web mapping project I decided to cater to a niche audience, the elderly squirrel enthusiasts. ArcGIS had an interesting data set that rated all of the streets in New York based on walking safety for senior citizens. I soon saw potential for a tool that catered to a small but strong audience. If I were an elderly squirrel watcher in New York, how could I guarantee my safety when traveling to Central Park, and how could I leverage existing squirrel data to help enhance my squirrel watching abilities.
ArcGIS allowed me to easily construct a visual tool that fused two completely distinct datasets into niche but cohesive tool. I found the experience of playing with small settings and searching for different settings to be interesting and fun. Overall, I was impressed by the strength of ArcGIS as a platform and can see how it can aid many Humanities Researchers in making their data more accessible without a huge time investment into developing specific technical skills.

I love your idea of creating a map for elderly squirrel enthusiasts. If I were an elderly lady in NYC I would definitely use your map.
