Setting up my website was relatively straightforward as the guides posted were helpful and well-documented with annotated images posted for each step of the process. Downloading the CSS plugin was the only step of the process where I decided to just search for the plugin in the plugin add section of the website and install it rather than following the guide.
There are many opportunities that present themselves as we begin to fully utilize a blog-style type website. Having the opportunity to blog or discuss about anything is powerful. From data visualization and analyzation to disputing about current political agendas, domain owners have the voice to represent their perspectives, beliefs, and ideas publicly. This is a powerful tool that differentiates people who own their own platforms relative to those under the constraints of platforms like large media or social media corporations like Instagram and Youtube. There is censorship to an extent that we as users cannot control when using products and services offered by these private hosted services.
