This is a simple map that I made. Basically, I mimicked Austin’s work and then made the pop-up for squirrels cleaner. It’s nothing too complicated, but I can see how this tool can be extremely beneficial when analyzing data. Coming from a CS background, this is the type of stuff that we’d have to do ourselves (our last assignment was to create graphical depiction of CO2 emissions from various countries in the world from a csv file). Seeing it done in such a professional manner is so mind-boggling, really shows what people are capable of out there.

I agree, seeing the map created in such a professional manner was very impressive. It’s incredible to think about how easy technology can make certain tasks.
Out of curiosity, how did you create the graphics for your CS class? Was it at all similar to ArcGIS?
Rather than attempting to visualize the data in a much different way, why did you decide to attempt to make Austin’s data more comprehensible?
