Doing SketchUp was not as hard as I imagined, whereas it definitely took a large amount of time if you wanted to make a delicate model. Windows and doors were the main obstacles for me. My home has a lot of windows on the sides, and hidden doors inside rooms.
Therefore, I tried several times to make an inner closet room inside my bedroom, but I was frustrated by not pulling a door on the blocking wall. Thus, I gave up and did not choose to build the closet room in my model.
I major in Art History and particularly in Chinese arts. During the last winter term a Chinese Scholars Studio course was provided. I had some tough time last winter reading through descriptions about Chinese literati studios and Chinese traditional gardens’ settings. With this tool, novice to that class could follow the primary resources to build up their own studio or garden in order to foster their understanding about the settings and culture. This tool is absolutely beneficial for humanistic uses.

Such a big house!
The individual rooms in your design are really impressive! I’m especially impressed by the intricate details you put into each of them.
Yixin I love the fact that you modeled the interior layout of your flat rather than the exterior structure. It’s a harder task, but you succeeded very well for a novice! I also love your idea of using this tool to make literary descriptions of unfamiliar spaces more concrete — a fantastic idea!
