WordPress: Trials and Tribulations

My process with setting up my WordPress site was quite bumpy.  Something went wrong in my registration stages so I never got a verification email.  This snag led to some conversations with customer support about how to log into my website.  However, we got it all figured out (a little later than intended) and I was able to start making changes to my website!

After fiddling around a little bit with the features on this website, I believe I can safely say that I have no idea how to use this platform.  Having never really created a website before, the learning curve for WordPress is steep. The site itself is also feeling a little empty because I haven’t been able to put much content in yet.  On the bright side, I found a cool picture relating to the humanities side of my interests for the home page. I also changed the code on my site to switch the background to light blue. I think WordPress has much more power as a platform than social media or simpler sites if I learn how to use it correctly. All in all, I have a lot to learn but I’m excited to get this platform to work for me!
