College is a place that brings people across the nation and world to one location. Being aware that people around you all come from different places only seems to arise during the beginning stages of meeting someone. The act of comparing how many people come from an area isn’t usually food for thought. Nor is the thought of how this growing diversity has changed a place over a period of time. This is my interest from the project.
In this map we will be demonstrating the areas that Carls came from over the time period of 1955-2015. In our group post you can read more on how we will be doing this and what we collectively want this map to show. Illustrating the expansion and growth of the different regions from which students are from, will open up the opportunity to think about how the campus environment has changed. How does the fact that students come from across the nation and world effect a campus’s community? This will spark the further thought of how varied geographical regions in one place would cause change in a community.
