Coding isn’t easy

HTML Dog is a great way for beginners like myself to start learning to use HTML and CSS. It has basic line for line tutorials that make it simple to follow along. I did run into a lot of troubles in the beginning and it was frustrating. I could not figure out how to get the webpage going because it would not save as a HTML file at first but after a couple of tries and just going into my folder, it worked out fine.

Although I still cannot figure out how to move the image closer to the text line, it was an overall good experience. I am still not sure what PRE tag is but I’m sure I’ll figure it out by the next class.

This was a battle

I do recommend to myself and possibly to others who are struggling to learn the programs or just need extra practice. I think I will go back to the guide and do it all over again, just so I can create content much easier and smoothly.

  1. I had some trouble using the pre tags on WordPress too! Whenever I copied and pasted code into my blog it automatically assigned some kind of “code” tag to it that messed up the formatting. Adding the tags didn’t work at first, but if I deleted the copy and pasted code and retyped it inside the tags it worked then. Not a great solution but hopefully someone else figured out a better way and can share in class!

  2. I like the way you approached your website! It is possible that the reason the photo is so much farther down the page is because you started a new “p” tag? Trying putting the description and photo in the same “p” tag, with a line break if you feel they’re too close together. That was a problem I was having, although it’s possible the solution to yours is different.
