From the Commonplace Book:

First known as the Veseli Brewers, one of Minnesota’s oldest amateur baseball teams is now known as the Veseli Warriors. The Warriors team was founded in the 1940s. Their traditional rival is the Lonsdale Aces, and the league juggernaut is New Prague. To the larger Southern Minnesota community, Veseli may be unimportant: a place to drive through without any notice. However, the local baseball teams have a much different view. The Veseli team has been a strong contender in the league for decades now. They have a number of championship titles and are frequent playoff contenders. Anyone interested in the small-town baseball scene is definitely taking notice of Veseli, and it’s no coincidence Veseli’s rival is a another town with a history of Czech immigration.
