Hello! My name is Sammie and I am Political Science/International Relations major and German minor at Carleton College, with a particular focus and interest in the intersection of ideas, place, and memory in Central and Eastern Europe. I work in Student Financial Services at Carleton and am involved in Ballroom and Social Dance and Der Freie Karleton Klub (German Club). As a student of politics, I am constantly interested in new digital tools we can employ in humanistic and social inquiry, to unravel and recontextualize our complicated multivariable and multidimensional world.

I am a lover of strategy and simulation games. From Dwarf Fortress’ complex attempt to simulate a whole new world to the hypnotic simplicity of driving around in Euro Truck Simulator 2, there is something incredibly compelling about worlds that allow you to explore your own interests and construct your own narrative.

When not manifesting on a couch in upper Sayles, you can find me in a hammock stack in front of Laird.
