From the Commonplace Book:

This experience, created using ArcGIS Scene Builder, is a representation of moving through the landscape of Kenyon from the locations of 4 prominent properties to the post offices to which they would have traveled every day. Exploring the space from a more angled point of view allows for a more imaginative experience of traveling these routes that made up certain individuals’ immediate spatial imaginary.

The roads and settlements in the scene are visible in the 1894 spatial imaginary map. The locations of the farms were determined by plat maps and their association with specific hamlets was deduced from contemporary copies of the newspaper Kenyon Leader. Click on them for more information.
