No wrong with simplicity

Fronthouse (1) Side1 Side2 BACK

Creating a home from mere memory became quite difficult as the initial visual I had did not match my outcome. There were borders that I did not know how to create and when attempting to create, the task became quite tedious. Walls would go missing, there would be a random gap on the home, roofs would greatly expand; my desire for borders declined. SketchUp is very user friendly, an issue usually has a solution, not knowing what tools to use for the desired manipulation to your content can be searched online for further insight to what tools would be best for your utilization. That takes some time, but it is worth it. It is much better to look at videos than trying to figure it out yourself and pressing random tools to get missing walls.

As simple as the tool is, the magnifying tool was very helpful when it came to making my accurate tweaks. Zooming in when erasing was handy because it greatly decreased my chances of erasing what wasn’t meant to disappear.

  1. The house looks like it has a challenging roof line to model, so I understand the frustration. I agree that answers can usually be found quickly by Googling, but you have to know the right keywords to use first! We’ll go into more detail on some advanced techniques in future classes.

  2. Genesis, I totally understand your frustration. It’s difficult when something you think you know so well doesn’t materialize the way you want it to. It looks great, though!
