Assignment (DUE 11/3)
Use the rest of your time this week to put the finishing touches on your SketchUp model of a Carleton College building. Make your model as accurate as possible, but ensure that it includes the following
- The basic massing of the building, reflecting its geometric shapes, dimensions, and rooflines as closely as possible
- The most prominent architectural details, including doors, windows, chimneys, and any other distinguishing features that make this building recognizable.
- A texture on every surface that approximates the historic exterior of the building as far as you can discern,
- e.g. brick, clapboard or stucco siding,
- shingle or tile roofing,
- translucent windows, etc.
When you have completed your model to your satisfaction, save the completed SketchUp .skp file to your Google Drive shared folder, at HackingHumanities > YourLastName_FirstInitial
Finally, export a few 2D images of your masterpiece and post it to the blog discussing your overall satisfaction with how it turned out and what you’ve learned along the way.
